IOX and Flux support

Hi @jacobmarble,

I’ve been looking forward to iox to allow us unlimited cardinality and I just set up a new organisation in us-east-1 and began copying some data over to play with it. We use Grafana and flux to query our current TSM backed data and I was expecting the transition from TSM to iox to be transparent.

My immediate problems are:

• the link on this page explaining how to mix sql and flux doesn’t work: Migrate data to the InfluxDB IOx storage engine | InfluxDB Cloud (IOx) Documentation
• this page says flux is supported: Query data | Get started with InfluxDB | InfluxDB Cloud (IOx) Documentation on iox, but the Influx Cloud “data explorer” doesn’t allow any flux, it seems only sql is supported - its very difficult to understand the scope of refactoring required. How can I run flux queries against iox?
• what has happened to tasks? The icon is missing from Influx cloud UI and tasks are critical for us, downsamping data etc.
• similarly, what has happened to alerts?

Strange, since writing the above in panic mode it seems my Grafana has sprung into life.
Beginner question, would a flux query against TSM backed data work without modification against IOX (it now seems so)?
And the suggested iox.from and iox.sql flux queries are to make queries more performant?

Tom: Did you ever get Flux to appear in you InfluxDB Cloud? I am only seeing SQL builder, and also (like you) cannot see any alerts or tasks.
