Hi,
I’m trying to set up InfluxDB 3 Enterprise 3.12.0 with a Home license on a single-node Debian 13 LXC container.
The email verification itself was successful — the verification page showed:
Email Verified Successfully
Your InfluxDB 3 Enterprise Home license is now active.
I also received the “Getting Started with InfluxDB 3 Enterprise” email afterwards.
However, the InfluxDB server remains stuck at:
Didn't find license in object store:
Object at location /var/lib/influxdb3/data/primary-cluster/trial_or_home_license not found
Attempting to retrieve license from server.
No valid license found: Requested license not available.
Email sent to [my email address].
Waiting for verification...
Because of this, the server never starts listening on port 8181:
ss -ltnp | grep 8181
returns nothing, and:
influxdb3 show license info
returns:
Show command failed: failed to send POST http://127.0.0.1:8181/api/v3/query_sql request: client error (Connect)
Configuration
InfluxDB 3 Enterprise: 3.12.0
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 13
Deployment: single-node LXC container
cluster-id="primary-cluster"
node-id="primary-node"
object-store="file"
mode="all"
data-dir="/var/lib/influxdb3/data"
license-type="home"
The license email is configured correctly and the verification email was successfully received and confirmed.
Using the exact same object-store configuration as the running service:
influxdb3 show license create-info \
--cluster-id primary-cluster \
--node-id primary-node \
--object-store file \
--data-dir /var/lib/influxdb3/data
returns:
{"license_type":null,"catalog_uuid":"455ff707-818f-46e2-8219-bddac1b35180","storage_hash":"sha256:Ki6BvT1X7y_wVUYcg20r0sPhOvB3Csotc0eODc3RqNc","licensed_cores":null,"available_cores":null,"expires_at":null}
The expected license file is not present:
/var/lib/influxdb3/data/primary-cluster/trial_or_home_license
One additional detail: this installation initially ran InfluxDB 3 Core 3.12.0. Core was then removed and InfluxDB 3 Enterprise 3.12.0 installed. The Enterprise launcher reports that it detected the previous Core installation and will migrate it in the background.
Could the previous Core installation/migration be affecting the Home license registration, or is there a way to force Enterprise to retrieve the already-verified Home license?
Thanks!
