InfluxDB 3.0 release timeline

HI Paul. As we approach December Is it looking like this will be released by the end of this year or will it be early next year? and could you possibly provide the latest expected timeframe for the release. Thanks!

We’ll be releasing the alpha early next year. We have a fairly high degree of confidence in that time frame.

The Plan for InfluxDB 3.0 Open Source

Is this this still accurate? Is InfluxDB Community still a correct name for a version coming?

With this announcement today, we’re laying out the long-term vision for our product line and where we expect to land different features. We’ve defined the following products:

  • InfluxDB Edge (MIT/Apache2 open source, next product to release)
  • InfluxDB Community (free to use, release after edge)
  • InfluxDB (paid license, release with or after community)
  • InfluxDB Clustered (self-managed, annual subscription, available now)
  • InfluxDB Cloud Serverless (multi-tenant, usage billing, available now)
  • InfluxDB Cloud Dedicated (single-tenant, resource billing, available now)

This is no longer accurate. We’re no longer doing a community version. We’ll have the Core open source release, and Enterprise, a commercial release that also has a free for at-home/hobbyist use. Details about the releases, what’s in them, and our rough timeline can be found in the alpha release announcement from January 13th: InfluxDB 3 Open Source Now in Public Alpha Under MIT/Apache 2 License | InfluxData
