Influxdb 1.8.7 will not start

Yep, had to do this as 1.8.9 is a crock on debian bullseye
NOTE TO INFLUX, SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO MIGRATE TO INFLUXDB2, WITH THE ATTENDANT PROBLEMS WITH CONVERTING TO FLUX, TOKENS, BUCKETS ETC
SO WE NEED TO STAY ON A STABLE 1.8 TILL WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE MIGRATION
PLEASE GO WAY AND READ UP ON SYSTEMD, TEST, TEST, AND DID I SAY TEST?, THEN RELEASE
YOU HAVE MANAGED TO TURN A WORLD BEATING PRODUCT INTO *****

As an update, the GitHub issues linked in the above post continue to track the progress of this topic.

The tl;dr is that this will be fixed in 1.8.10, which is currently undergoing the release candidate (rc) process and will be released soon. You can find links to the current working rc builds (1.8.10rc1 is the latest) in the issues referenced above.

Hello every one,

I am a new to Influx, I have installed the influx on Raspberry Pi 3 B, with Node red data reading & storing in Influx. I intend to have continuous data of flow & consumption of the flow meters. I am facing the problem of “Influxdb.service” failed to because the control process exited with error code. This happens when ever the power fails or Reboot is done, I lost all the data in the databse cause I shall reinstall the Influx.
Please help to resolve this, Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I am unable to find packages to download influxdb oss 1.9.6 version. Can you please help me find the downloads link.

Hi @Nithya,
1.9.6 does not exist. We have 1.8.10 and 2.6 as the latest versions

I had a corrupt SD card. I ddrescue’d the image, and after restoring it to a new SD card, I encountered this error. The only solution that worked was provided by @denis_la_malice
Thank you!
