Dealing with Consul high cardinality across health checks

Hello,

We’re encountering a situation where Influx is falling over because Consul is generating remarkably high cardinality metrics.

I’ve submitted a PR which I think is the right solution to this problem for ourselves and potentially others with very large Consul clusters: https://github.com/influxdata/telegraf/pull/7643

Can anyone let me know what I can do to get this accepted? I like to avoid running forks for as long as possible, and I think others might find this useful.
