Telegraf vsphere Plugin - Plot total number of VMs in the vCenter against time

We are using telegraf (v1.12) for influxdb output which we feed to grafana to generate plots.
I was just wondering how to do that if I want to know the total VM count in the whole cluster.
Sorry, I am quite new to this so couldn’t find the intuitive way to do this myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
