See real time weather data in InfluxDB

Hello, I am using some sensors to look at the weather data inside the building. I also want to comapre it to the weather outside in my city. The issue comes with the later point as when I use the openweathermap plugin i dont seem to get the weather data for the city in the bucket. What i did was make a telegraf config file using the openweather map config file and then connect to it, conenction seems fine but again i dont see any weather data in the bucket, can anyone point me in the right direction. Any help is much appreciated. thank you
