Kapacitor shutdown and stream processing

Hello,
I have a question about kapacitor shutdown and stream processing with window nodes.
From my comprehension kapacitor closed all open windows when shutting down and start new windows at his restart. With this behaviour the alerting is not relevant on kapacitor restart. Since I also create some metrics with kapacitor engine, the metric values are also not correct. Is there any thinking about saving and restoring window state over kapacitor restart ?
