Future of plugin inputs.net

I noticed DeprecationWarning message like

Value “false” for option “ignore_protocol_stats” of plugin “inputs.net” deprecated since version 1.27.3 and will be removed in 1.36.0: use the ‘inputs.nstat’ plugin instead

I’m currently using Telegraph on several Windows machines to get some statistics including network interfaces. Does the above message mean that inputs.net will stop working completely in a future version? If so, what will replace it for Windows OS, because inputs.nstat seems to be not supported on Windows platform.

It seems I’m just confused by message, when I add config line

ignore_protocol_stats = true

then DeprecationWarning dissapear.

As you discovered the plugin itself will not be removed. The intent was to point users who want protocol stats at the inputs.nstat plugin instead.
