Backup command to use gzip's --rsyncable option

Hi all,

i am using the backup command and duplicati to store my backups. Duplicati has a nice data deduplication method which currently doesn’t seem to be used much on influx backup. I assume that the tar.gz file creation is the root cause.

Is it possible to pass the --rsyncable flag to gzip during the backup process of influx?

+1 for this. I had posted a question related to this recently and see the benifit of using the --rsycnable flag.

I think this needs to be addressed in another place. I dont think the request will really popup from this small thread :slight_smile:
