Which editor is sutiable for testing the log file by manually

Hi Everyone,
Any one could suggest me which editor I will took for testing the log file manually.
Because I took Notepad++ but by using Notepad++ duplicate log file is coming into influxDB, I mean If I add one log file into the Notepad++ the previous log file also coming again into influxDB.
So please suggest me how to avoid this duplication.
