Type conflict with import: no apparent series that's the cause

#1

I’m trying to batch insert via CLI.
influx -import -path=test_data.txt

# DML
# CONTEXT-DATABASE: SiocTest

IRM,ioc=siocirm,irm_num=3,pvname=irm:003:timestampsource host="b04lx-i rm",log_path="/home/als3/acct/dpcuneo/influx_db_ingestion/raw_data/IRM/irm_3.txt",value=True 1519774861732953088
IRM,ioc=siocirm,irm_num=3,pvname=irm:003:supplycurrent host="b04lx-irm",log_path="/home/als3/acct/dpcuneo/influx_db_ingestion/raw_data/IRM/irm_3.txt",value=289i 1519774861732953088
IRM,ioc=siocirm,irm_num=3,pvname=irm:003:temperature host="b04lx-irm",log_path="/home/als3/acct/dpcuneo/influx_db_ingestion/raw_data/IRM/irm_3.txt",value=30.796875 1519774861732953088

Getting back this error:

influx -import -path=/home/als3/acct/dpcuneo/influx_db_ingestion/parsed/IRM/irm_short.dml

2018/03/16 10:30:56 error writing batch:  {"error":"partial write: field type conflict: input field \"value\" on measurement \"IRM\" is type boolean, already exists as type string dropped=3"}

UPDATE: It seems that I did not understand the concept of a measurement and was conflating it with a schema. I though that as long as a measurement had a different schema that would define a unique series, which it does. Except measurements cannot have varying data types…
