Possible to send MQTT broker a keepalive so I can consume?

Hello,
Just starting with this and have managed to get Telegraf to grab some data from MQTT broker and shove it into InfluxDB. Only problem is the MQTT broker needs a particular keepalive message/payload sent to it to stay transmitting.
Is there a nice way to do this in telegraf?
