i have a measurement m1 which 2 years old data. i have now created a retention policy r1 that will delete any data that is older than 90 days.
is there a way by which i can apply this new retention policy r1 to the existing measurement m1?

the only way to appmly the new retention policy
is by ‘moving’ that measurement m1 to the new retention policy …
you could also manually remove older data by dropping shards manually
you can also copy the last 90 days of m1 to the new retention policy and remove the older data
