# Need help understanding periodic buildup in RAM with a sudden drop afterwards

I am running InfluxDB 2.x on an ubuntu 18.04.  
To it I make about 500-750 writes per second. I also have about 10 or so tasks per minute.  
For some reason, I see these cyclical buildups in ram which I cannot fully understand:

Can someone please help me find a way to debug this? I don’t know where to start.
