Recently my influxd 2.0 process has been consuming all my CPU cycles. I have 8GB RAM, 4 cores on a Linode VM. I have about 2 year’s worth of various data in my system, unfortunately I have no idea to give you statistics on sizes / shards / cardinality as all the instructions seem to be for influxdb 1.x and not 2.0. Here are some profile statistics I gathered:

I think I solved it. See my VM CPU below:

![Screen Shot 2021-09-29 at 12.41.02](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/influxdata/original/2X/6/67b5c1dbd343149f67d2dd3f8947841dd23cd0d9.png)

That drop was when I deleted two Alert rules I have defined in Grafana 8 and restarted Influxd and Grafana. Something in the alert rules seem to have caused Influxd to go crazy. Anyone have any insights?
