# High CPU Usage - Influx stops writing

Hi Guys,
We are writing around 2k values per second and the influx is about 62% of CPU usage.
After some days the memory starts to increase and the write operation stops.
Any ideas about that?

In the meantime if you decide not to migrate to InfluxDB Cloud powered by IOx I encourage you to try using downsampling tasks to reduce your data or expire them automatically more frequently. Or scale horizontally.
