# Dashboard variable is not getting updated

Im using `schema.tagValues` to fetch the tag values from the bucket to populate a dashboard variable and i have specified the `start` parameter to v.timeRangeStart

It does not change when i switch the time range, only when i select the time range and refresh, the dashboard variable gets updated.

Is this is a bug that will get resolved in future updates or am i missing something

@jeyakumar This does sound like a UI bug. Could you [submit an issue to the InfluxDB UI repo](https://github.com/influxdata/ui/issues/new?assignees=&labels=kind%2Fbug%2C+team%2Fui&projects=&template=bug_report.md&title=)?
